What is VBIA?

The Virginia Business Incubation Association (VBIA) is a  statewide organization.   VBIA’s goal is to bring together as many of the elements of the business incubation support network and to provide a forum that advances the successful implementation of Virginia’s business incubation process. To that end, VBIA seeks to provide greater public awareness of the economic benefits of business incubation by involving incubation professionals, economic developers, sponsors, clients and graduates in an on-going campaign to provide public information and awareness of incubation programs across the Commonwealth.
 


 
What is Business Incubation?

business incubation is a “support process” that:

  •  Nurtures individuals in the pre-startup stage;
  •  Supports the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies
  •  Aids in accelerating the development of small businesses by providing an array of targeted resources and services.

As a statewide organization, VBIA’s goal is to bring together as many of the elements of the business incubation support network and to provide a forum that advances the successful implementation of Virginia’s business incubation process. To that end, VBIA seeks to provide creater public awareness of the economic benefits of business incubation by involving incubation professionals, economic developers, sponsors, clients and graduates in an on-going campaign to provide public information and awareness of incubation programs across the Commonwealth.

 


 

VBIA membership runs from July 1 to June 30.   The membership is not transferable.
