VBIA Roundtable Meetings

As a state wide organization, one of VBIA’s objectives is to provide training and education to create greater public awareness of the economic benefits of entrepreneurship and small business development.  Our members volunteer their time to hold a series of roundtable meetings around the Commonwealth throughout the year.

There is no charge to attend the Roundtable events.

Who Attends

The VBIA Regional Roundtables are highly interactive.  Participants have an opportunity to share and take away ideas and materials they can use to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of their entrepreneurial and small business relations.  Meetings include representatives from state and federal government, colleges and universities, city and county executives, local and regional economic developers, chamber of commerce officials, public and private business assistance providers, economic and industrial development authority members, interested individuals and elected officials.

2012 Roundtable Meeting Overview

The purpose of the 2012 roundtable discussions will be to share the knowledge gained at the 2011 VBIA conference on “Economic Gardening: An Entrepreneurial Approach to Economic Development.” Participants will engage in a discussion of the tools and techniques used to grow second stage businesses and encourage entrepreneurship and small business development.  Participants will be provided with take away materials they can use to evaluate their communities. In addition, VBIA will ask everyone to discuss the tools and techniques they believe are readily available to them to assist second stage growth companies.
